As a birth worker I work with a unique group of local Homebirth Midwives. As your caregivers we offer support throughout pregnancy and get to know your family and help assist you in creating a birth plan that best fits your needs. Prenatal appointments typically take about an hour, we cover any questions you may have, check in on you and baby and have the capability to send you for additional testing if needed.
During labor our team comes in peacefully and quietly. We set up and provide comfort measures as needed, we monitor mom and baby and give as much or as little support as mom wishes. After all this is your story! If a scenario arises that needs special attention we are trained to respond appropriately.
We offer birth tubs for your convenience. Laboring in water can be very relaxing and water birth is a safe option!
Breastfeeding is a great way to bond with your baby. Before leaving the birth we assist in helping that bond begin. Many times there are techniques that can assist in continuing successful feedings in the days, months and years after. We offer referrals for lactation consultants if needed!
Vaginal birth after cesarean can be a safe and great option for many folks and achievable! If you would like to talk more about your specific scenario and see if it is an option feel free to contact us.
We are still very much on call for you! We come out for postpartum visits at day 1 and 3, 1 week, 3 weeks and 6 weeks after birth. We check in on mom and baby, we weigh baby, give breastfeeding pointers, file the birth certificate and much more.
As your doula I offer unique care with all of these services as a minimum:
~A free consultation interview
~2-3+ prenatal visits in your home
~Birth Plan counseling
~Comfort technique practice
~On-call 24/7 support beginning 2 weeks before your estimated due date, and extending to two weeks after the birth of your baby
~Continuous labor and birth support from when you call me in until a few hours after the birth
~2 postpartum visits (including a home-cooked meal)
